The controller responsible for the processing of personal data on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

As a small non-profit association, we are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer under Art. 37 GDPR in conjunction with § 38 BDSG. For any data protection enquiries, please contact us directly at the email address above.

2. Data collected on our website

Server log files

When you visit our website, your browser automatically transmits information that is stored in server log files. This includes:

  • IP address of the accessing device (anonymised)

  • Date and time of the request

  • Name and URL of the file accessed

  • Website from which the request originates (referrer URL)

  • Browser type and version, and where applicable, the operating system of your device

This data is processed for the purpose of ensuring the technically fault-free operation and optimisation of our website. It is not used to draw conclusions about your identity and is deleted automatically after a maximum of 7 days.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of our website.

3. Hosting (Wix)

Our website is hosted by Wix.com Ltd., 40 Namal Tel Aviv Street, Tel Aviv 6350671, Israel. Wix acts as a data processor under Art. 28 GDPR and may process personal data generated when you visit our website — including server log files, IP addresses, and form submissions — on servers located in the European Union and the United States.

For transfers to the United States, Wix relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR. 4. Contact form

When you send us an enquiry via our website contact form, the data you provide — including your first and last name, email address, and message — is stored by us for the purpose of processing your enquiry and handling any follow-up questions.

This data is not shared with third parties without your consent. It is deleted once your enquiry has been fully resolved, unless statutory retention obligations require longer storage.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent given by submitting the form) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries). Retention period: Until the enquiry is fully resolved, and no longer than 2 years thereafter.

5. Event registration

When you register for a German-Indian Foundation e.V. event, we collect the following personal data:

  • Title, first name, and last name

  • Position / role and organisation

  • Industry sector and company size

  • Business email address and phone number (optional)

  • Areas of interest and optional questions for the panel

  • How you heard about the event (optional)

This data is used exclusively for the organisation and execution of the relevant event, and for event-related communications such as confirmation, programme updates, and post-event follow-up.

Your data will not be shared with third parties unless strictly necessary for the delivery of the event (for example, the event venue MULTIVAC Group, Wolfertschwenden, or catering providers), and only to the minimum extent required for that purpose.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent given by submitting the registration form) and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract / pre-contractual measures). Retention period: 12 months following the event, after which data is deleted or anonymised.

6. Cookies

Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device that your browser sends back to our server on subsequent visits. Cookies allow us to recognise your browser and improve your experience on our site.

Technically necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the technical operation of the website and are set without your prior consent. They enable core functionality such as page navigation and access to secure areas of the site.
